2 attacking players combine with 1 central midfielders (Blue) and the two end players (centre backs, gks) to maintain possession and transfer the football against the 2 defenders (Orange).
The team in possession attempts to maintain possession and transfer the ball to the opposite end.
On loosing possession the attacking team positioned on the sides switches to the internal positions (inside the grid) and defends. The defending team which regained possession moves to the outside playing positions.
The attacking players can operate all up and down the sidelines.
The exercise is continuous for 4 min work periods with 1 min rest intervals. Footballs can fed via the coach on the side or from the end neutrals.
The team in possession attempts to maintain possession for 10 passes (10-15 typically). Or from a transfer of the ball from one side of the area to the other and back.
